Education
Cathryn has a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from The University of Tulsa, completed in 2001 after teaching music privately and in schools for over 20 years.
Her Bachelor’s Degree in Music is from Indiana University.
Experience in Music
An accomplished musician working in a variety of public performance venues, Cathryn performed for over 20 years as a flutist with Signature Symphony, and on both flute and piano with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra.
She performs on the flute every summer with the Starlight Band. She has sung with Tulsa Oratorio and has worked as a piano accompanist for Tulsa Ballet. She has been a frequent performer for recital series in the Tulsa area, including Brown Bag It and Tuesdays at Trinity. Cathryn has taught piano classes at The University of Tulsa, private flute at Oral Roberts University, and class piano, private piano and flute, and music theory at Tulsa Community College. Throughout her career in music education and performing, she has also taught private piano and flute lessons in her home studio.
In 2012, Cathryn completed a Master of Fine Arts degree from The University of Tulsa. Following graduation, she worked as an adjunct art instructor at The University of Tulsa and Tulsa Community College. She currently teaches elementary art in the Tulsa Public Schools.
